Šestinski kišobran, the umbrella from Šestine, characterized by red cotton canvas with multicolored stripes, thick wooden stick, and a naturally curved handle made of chestnut tree, is part of Šestine folk costume and the most recognizable souvenir from Zagreb. The rain jacket Kaplja ("a drop") follows the logic of this century-old tradition of craft manufacturing of umbrellas. The canopy cloak of each umbrella is tailored from eight isosceles triangles firmly connected into a regular octagon, primarily due to material utilization. The same canopy cloak is placed in the new context of garments, and while any umbrella requires a wire structure, in the case of the raincoat, the human body and its movement make the structure.
